MULTAN: Head of the Islamic Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) group blamed sectarianism and political parties for the lack of unity among the Muslim Ummah.

JuD's amir, Hafiz Saeed was speaking to a gathering in Kamonki, after monitoring funds collection for flood victims.

Saeed said that sectarianism and political parties support differences within the Muslim Ummah. He emphasized that we have to eradicate sectarianism from our society

Saeed also condemned the government’s decision to grant India the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status, adding that it will destroy Pakistan’s economy.

The JuD president also opposed Army actions in the tribal areas and said that the people living in the tribal belt have always defended the country and supported the armed forces.

He pointed out that Pakistan has totally forgotten the water crisis caused by India as it has been stealing our water. Saeed said that India is building dams on our rivers, violating the Indus Basin Water Treaty but the United Nations and US are silent.

He also condemned government’s stance on water crisis and policies of military action in the tribal areas.

The implications of sectarian clashes are manifold, everlasting and irreversible. It has divided the whole country on sectarian basis along with already threatening provincial, ethnic, political and linguistic prejudices prevailing in the country.

The irony is that these inhuman acts of brutality are committed in the name of the ‘great service of Islam’, despite committing the severe transgression of Islamic values and teachings of love, tolerance, tranquility, harmony and peace.

its true that Hafiz Saeed's organization never indulged in such a heinous activities ...Hafiz saeed's words must be given hears.

Hafiz Saeed is absolutely ... this sectarian turf war has brought us to the poin we are standing today that Pakistan is the most polarized state and every one seems to be struck to one school of thought negating all others and people are rapidly losing tolerance and pluralism. use of ruthless violence has become order of the day ... people are not even ready to listen other's point of view ... and this is not the practice of any one specific sect but all of the sectarian groups present in Pakistan. being an independent journalist, i will give credit here to Hafiz Saeed and his jamaat that they have always work to develop consensus on all the issues of national interest and in their conferences i have frequently seen the scholars from all the schools of thoughts and from all political parties.as was seen in recent APC in a hotel in Islamabad. best wishes Hafiz Saeed!!
