A science quiz competition was held between boys and girls at Khushal School and College in Mingora on Saturday.

A large number of students took part in the competition, which was also attended by education department officials and the civil society.

Girls dominated the competition and clinched the top positions in nearly all categories.

The most attractive part of the programme was the competition between the students of lower primary section, which was steered by a fourth grade student, Komal Zahoor. Their innocent performances were greatly appreciated by the audience.

“It was a great competition. We like to have more such events in the future,” said Komal.

Malakand Division Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Chairman Muhammad Imran said that the current era belongs to women and they would take the country towards a better prospect.

District Education Officer Dilshad Begum appreciated the school administration’s efforts and said such programmes are extremely important for students’ growth.

“Private schools are playing a vital role in the field of education and the excellent performance displayed by students today proves that our younger generation has a lot to offer to this country,” she said.

Ezaz Khan, a fourth grade student who came first in the competition, happily said, “We are the best. We defeated girls in our category. We would love to compete more and earn fame. We are the best.”
