FAISALABAD:

A man tortured his wife and shaved her head, in addition to locking her and her father in a room for several days.

According to police officials, the incident took place in Chak No24-JB Abadi Lahori, when Muhammad Hussain attacked his wife and father-in-law at their house after she left him. Shazia told reporters that her husband used to beat her and she had informed a neighbour to tell her parents to rescue her. When her husband discovered that Shazia had tried to escape, he beat her in the presence of several neighbours and shaved her head. Then he locked her in a room and waited for her father, Abdul Dogar, to come to the house to take her away and then attacked him. Both Shazia and her father were kept locked in the room for over two days while neighbours informed the police. Hussain then fled the district and Shazia and her father were rescued by villagers.  Sahianwala Station House Officer (SHO) Mian Muhammad Rafique has registered a case and police are searching for the accused.
