CHEYENNE, WY, US: This is with reference to your report of September 20 titled “At the UN: US insists Pakistan get tough with Haqqanis”. If Pakistan and America start a blame game, they can go on forever. Clearly, both sides should know by now that have some common interests and some that are not common; and that there also exist certain limitations which do not match to their individual interests.
The solution to the problem is to enter into a clearly demarcated compromise with a clearly-drawn line, which is to be respected by both the parties and well known to all officials of the alliance. As long as this is not in place, the bilateral relationship will continue to suffer.
