MADRID: Spain conferred the country's highest military honour upon General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani on Thursday.
The Grand Cross of Military Merit award is the highest military honour conferred by the King of Spain for distinguished service. The award was in recognition of Pakistan Army's contribution in the fight against terrorism.
According to an ISPR press release, COAS, General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani visited the Spanish Joint Staff Headquarters in Madrid where he had meetings with Spanish Defence Minister Ms Carme Chacon and other defence and military officials including Secretary General for Defence Policy, Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Army Staff.
The focus of the meetings was bilateral defence and military relations and other matters of mutual interest.

By giving this award what Spain has really meant is whatever Kiyani has done is NOT ENOUGH but he must DO MORE to save his country from going back to STONE AGE.

whatever it is a matter of great honour for us,we proud of him,he is fighting with an enemy in a mirror room,hardly to identify but he knows the real one out of many faces..
Kayani is a true professional unlike another general who was more interested in politics. He is respected over the world because he flushed out the criminals and terrorists to where they can only mount attacks of desperation. He has restored the professionalism of the military. Most importantly he has the anti state criminals on the run through military action. Now all the anti state criminals can do is attack girls schools, buses, shopping, bazaars and funeral processions like the cowards they are. Brava Kayani and Pakistan Zindabad!
So west is happy with Kiyani's progress. Good. At least someone is happy; no matter if people at home feel insecure more than ever.
