Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s Pasoori, the popular Coke Studio track, broke the internet as it still trends weeks after its release. The song has taken over the fans and we're always humming subconsciously. It has become a constant feature at weddings, in cafes, restaurants, cars - anywhere you go - and nobody is complaining! Given the virality, the hit banger song has now hit global ranking no 3 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 list and Sethi is over the moon about the news!

The Chan Kithan crooner shared a screenshot of Spotify’s Global Viral 50’s list on Instagram to announce the milestone. Sethi shared that when Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, the mastermind behind Coke Studio this year, had manifested and expressed his faith in Pasoori’s virality the first time he heard the tune, he didn’t take it seriously and laughed it off. One year later, it came true.

“One year ago, when Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan heard this tune I’d sent him on a voice note, he told me with an enormous calm that it will enter the global charts. I laughed, drank my coffee, and put it out of my mind. Today, I woke up to this… Insanely happy for Abdullah Siddiqui, Shae Gill, Sherry Khattak and Zulfiqar,” read the caption.

Humbled and grateful, the Rung hitmaker further added, “Many many congratulations to us, and an EDDA VADDA (very big) thanks to all you lovers — dildaars and sab yaars — who are pow-ing this Pasoori at the GLOBAL LEVEL.”

Sethi's proud father, Najam Sethi, also took to Twitter to congratulate the Pasoori hitmaker. “Ali Sethi has hit the Global chart! Congratulations!” read his tweet.

Pasoori has time and again been praised for its catchy melody, lyrics, bohemian set and impeccable performances by the artists involved. Earlier, Ahmed Ali Butt called it “the most visually appealing song,” of this CS season. Actor Adnan Siddiqui also called Ali Sethi “a maestro,” adding, “but Pasoori belongs to Shae Gill.” It also caught the attention of Rupi Kaur, who gave a shout-out to Sethi and Gill on her Insta Stories. “The words, the sound, the video, Ali Sethi, all of it makes me want to go and write a love poem,” shared the poet. “Shae Gill, your voice…” she added sounding almost enchanted.
