Popular singer and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Abrarul Haq received a jolt while holding a mic during an election rally in Narowal, Punjab on Wednesday, Express News reported.

Haq, who is also in the run for NA-78, was on stage and had just began his speech when he was jolted with an electric shock from his mic.

Consequently, in a state of panic he dropped it to the ground.

Footage of the incident soon began doing the rounds on social media.

The singer was able to keep his composure so the crowd could not come to know of the gaffe.

WATCH: JI chief, party leaders remain unhurt in Mohmand stage collapse

Once the mic was fixed the PTI candidate for the July 25 election continued on with his address at the gathering.

Earlier today, a stage setup for a political gathering of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) collapsed in Mohmand district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, however, no injuries were reported from the incident.

The collapse occurred after it was reportedly overburdened by party workers and leaders.

The incident happened as people more than the maximum capacity of the makeshift stage tried to get a place on it, JI information secretary Qaisar Sharif said, adding that all of them including the party chief remained unhurt in the incident.
