Awami National Party's (ANP) Ghulam Ahmed Bilour on Monday said adequate security should have been provided to slain Haroon Bilour and the party and the family are not satisfied with the current security arrangements.

Addressing the media, Bilour said that the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar should not have interfered in the administrative affairs of the country and gesturing to a recent apex court order restricting provision of security to leaders, Bilour said that the CJP should have fixed his focus "on Panama and Iqama" and not "act like a prime minister and decide security measures".

The ANP leader further said that the party will conduct a meeting to discuss election-related issues. "We do not care for security now, we are not afraid of death, but law enforcement should have ensured security for Haroon." His father was also martyred prior to the last elections, Bilour lamented.

"We must determine who and what brought us to this state," he added. Further, Bilour stated that founder ANP Wali Khan was the only man who said that the 'jihad' against Russia in Afghanistan was a "move for personal interests."

Commenting on the upcoming elections, Bilour questioned the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for not awarding party tickets to Chaudhry Nisar and Sardar Mehtab Abbasi. "It is beyond my understanding, honestly."
