Abbottabad investigations: Several more suspects arrested

Security beefed up in the city as police and law enforcement agencies conduced the joint search operation.

ABBOTTABAD: Several suspects were arrested during a search operation in Abbottabad, Tuesday. The arrested suspects were shifted to an unknown location for further questioning.

Security was beefed up as police and law enforcement agencies conduced the joint search operation in various areas of the city.

Heavy contigents of police were deployed at entry and exit points of the city. Aerial Surveillance of Abbotabad carried out by law enforcement agencies. Meanwhile, DCO Abbottabad directed all property dealers to provide their business records to the police for scrutiny.

As mentioned in a previous report published in The Express Tribune, one of Osama bin Laden’s wives told Pakistani interrogators that the al Qaeda leader and his family had been living for five years in the compound where he was killed by US forces on May 2.

Pakistani security forces took between 15 and 16 people into custody from the compound after US forces removed bin Laden’s body. Those detained included Bin Laden’s three wives and several children.
