Various religious parties organised peaceful rallies in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Friday to show solidarity with the people of Bahrain in their struggle for democracy.

The rally by Shia Ulema Council started from Committee Chowk in Rawalpindi and ended at Rawalpindi Press Club, said a press release.

Speakers at the rally said the uprising in Bahrain was not different from those in Tunisia, Egypt or Yemen, but the King of Bahrain had brought in troops from neighbouring countries to suppress the demands of the people.

They urged for an end to violence against the supporters of democracy and called for foreign troops to be withdrawn.

They also passed a resolution calling for an end to recruitment of Pakistanis for service in the Bahraini Security forces.

Han | 13 years ago | Reply Contries like India , PAK won't accept any violence towards the people. These countries know the value of a democratic Government. Once there was no Pakistan, it was one named Hindustan and the country was ruled by ''Kings". Those 'dictators were defeated by English and they ruled for decades and later divided . Those who suffered can understand the real demands and sorrow of the suppressed citizens.
