Security forces kill 5 in Swat

Militants and security forces exchange fire in the Gawalerai area of Swat.

Security forces killed five militants in a clash in Swat on Friday.

According to sources, the militants and security forces exchanged fire in the Gawalerai area of Swat.

The clash broke out when the forces were conducting a search operation following information provided by locals.

A heavy cache of weapons was also recovered during the raids.

Till now the security forces have killed several militants and destroyed their hideouts during ongoing operations in Swat.

Explosion in Bara injures 4 security officials

Four security personnel were injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in the Bara area of Khyber Agency.

Sources said that unidentified militants targeted the convoy of security forces with a roadside bomb.

The injured were shifted to a hospital, while security forces cordoned off the area, and started a search for the militants.
