Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor named DG ISPR

He is replacing Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa, who has now been posted as IG Arms at GHQ

Pakistan Army appointed on Thursday Major-General Asif Ghafoor as the head of the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Maj Gen Ghafoor, who is presently commanding a division in Swat, replaces Lt Gen Asim Bajwa, the new Inspector General (IG) Arms at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The new DG ISPR has a vast experience of Operations, and has commanded unit in operation Almizan, served in military operations directorate and remained involved in the finalisation of National Action Plan (NAP).

Other high-level transfers since the new army chief, Gen Qamar Bajwa took charge include DG ISI and DG Rangers Sindh, among others

Meanwhile, Major General Abdullah Dogar was posted Commandant PMA while Major General Syed Adnan as GOC in Lahore.

Major General Fida Malik was appointed DG Logistics at GHQ while Major General Zafarullah Khan as GOC at Panu Aqil.

Similarly, Major General Nadir Khan chosen as DG Personnel Services and Provost Marshal(PS&PM) at GHQ, whereas Major General Zafar Iqbal posted as GOC armour division in Gujranwala.
