Two IED blasts rock Peshawar

No loss of life reported; however, attacks cause panic across the city

PESHAWAR: IED blasts rocked Peshawar as extortionists targeted two houses in the city late Wednesday night.

In the first incident, a house in Hayatabad Phase 6 area was targeted. The attack seems to be a case of extortion as the house owner was receiving threats, ASP Hayatabad Shoaib  told The Express Tribune.

Separately, the residence of a school owner, Rizwan, was attacked with an IED in Ishrat Cinema Chowk in Gulbahar area. Police said some criminals were demanding extortion from Rizwan as well, threatening him of dire consequences.

Although no loss of life was reported, the attacks caused panic across the city.
