Smuggling Foiled: 16,800 gutka packets seized

The motorway police handed over the arrested alleged smuggler to the Jamshoro police for further investigation

National Highways and Motorway Police foiled a smuggling bid and seized 16,800 packets of gutka worth almost Rs300,000, while a suspect was also arrested.

Motorway police officers SPO Rashid Saddique and SPO Abdul Razaq were on routine patrolling on National Highway in Jamshoro when they stopped a car for snap-checking.

However, instead of stopping the car, the driver alleged tried to flee. After chasing the suspect, the police managed to stop the car and arrested the driver, identified as Kashif Hussain, son of Muhammad Hussain, who is a resident of Karachi.

The motorway police handed over the arrested alleged smuggler, the recovered gutka and car to the Jamshoro police for further investigation.
