Mountain man: Sadpara laid to rest

The 54-year-old climber from Gilgit-Baltistan had died of blood cancer on Monday

GILGIT: Locals flocked to pay their final respects to renowned mountaineer Hasan Sadpara as he was laid to rest in his native town of Sadpara.

The 54-year-old climber from Gilgit-Baltistan had died of blood cancer on Monday at Rawaplindi’s Combined Military Hospital.

Apart from the large number of locals, senior government and military officials, and former G-B Chief Minister and PPP leader Mehdi Shah attended the burial. Meanwhile, tributes continued to pour in from across the country and abroad for Sadpara.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday condoled the death of Sadpara. Bilawal eulogised the services rendered by mountaineer for earning international laurels for the country.
