KU announces admissions for visual studies dept

Three per cent merit seats are reserved for students who have passed their intermediate results more than 5 years ago

KARACHI: University of Karachi's director admissions, Dr Khalid Iraqi, announced that admissions in Department of Visual Studies for academic year of 2017 are now open.

In a statement issued on Monday, it was stated that admissions are open in the bachelors of design, bachelors of fine arts and bachelors of architecture programmes. Admission forms are available at United Bank Limited Counter at KU's Silver Jubilee Gate for Rs1,000. Forms can be submitted between October 17 to October 27 at UBL's counter number nine, from 9am to 1pm and till noon on Friday. An aptitude test will be held on November 6, after which successful applications will be called for interviews, while the new session will begin on January 2, 2017.

Students having at least 45% marks from the Higher Secondary Commission or an equivalent board in the last five years are eligible to apply, while three or four-year diploma holders of Sindh Board of Technical Education with at least 60% marks can also apply.

Moreover, three per cent merit seats are reserved for students who have passed their intermediate results more than five years ago.

Candidates who are waiting for their results can apply but they have to submit their results before the announcement of the final admission list.
