Security arrangements: IG forms Whatsapp group

KARACHI: Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja has directed all the DIGs and SSPs to personally monitor the Muharram processions and update the information in the official Whatsapp group that has been created for the purpose. According to a statement issued by the Sindh police, Khawaja has ordered the police to increase snap-checking and patrolling in areas surrounding imambargahs and processions and to take strict action against pillion riders. The IG directed all the police officials to ensure effective intelligence sharing as well. The policemen deployed at different imambargahs and processions in the city have been asked to physically check attendees while also ensuring effective coordination with scouts volunteers. Directing citizens to keep their original national identity cards with them, the IG has also asked citizens to carry all the necessary vehicle registration documents with them to avoid inconvenience.
