KARACHI: Police have issued a traffic management for the processions on Muharram 8, 9 and 10. According to a statement, the processions being taken out on October 10, 11 and 12 will start from Nishtar Park and cross Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, MA Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Preedy Street, MA Jinnah Road again, Boulton Market, Bombay Bazaar, Kharadar, Nawab Mahabat Khanjee Road and end at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah. The route for the processions on Muharram 9 and 10 will be the same, with the procession on Muharram 9 starting at 12pm and Muharram 10 at 10am.

Police issue traffic plans for Ashura processions

During the processions, all traffic coming to MA Jinnah Road from the east will be diverted towards Soldier Bazaar (Bahadur Yar Jang Road), Coast Guard Headquarters, Anklesaria Hospital, Jubilee and then to Garden area.



Traffic coming from Nazimabad will be diverted from Lasbela towards Nishtar Road and from there towards the zoo while that from Liaquatabad will be diverted to Martin Road and towards Central Jail. These vehicles will, however, be permitted to proceed to the central jail and then proceed via Jamshed Road, Dada Bhoy Noorji Road, Kashmir Road, Sharae Quaideen, Sharae Faisal to reach their destinations.

Sindh government finalises Muharram security plan

Traffic coming from Stadium Road will proceed via New MA Jinnah Road. These vehicles will be diverted at Dada Bhoy Noorji Road towards Kashmir Road, Society Light Signal, Sharae Quaideen to Sharae Faisal.
