Pottermania may be alive and well, thanks to the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and a hit London play, but actor Daniel Radcliffe shared he has no interest in revisiting his role as the boy wizard, reported Reuters.
Asked about speculation that there could be a movie version of the London play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Radcliffe, 27, said no one had contacted him about a new film. “Nobody has said anything to me about revitalising the films, so I don’t know.”
Radcliffe, who was just 11 when he was cast as Potter added, “It’s not something I think I’d be interested in, and also if they do it now, I feel they should just cast the people from the play.”
However, when it comes to Disney movies, the star has a more concrete idea of the role he would want in a live-action remake of one of the animated films. In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Radcliffe revealed that his first choice would be playing a supporting character from 1997’s Hercules. “If they did an adaptation of Hercules, the Disney movie — that’s my favourite Disney movie — I would have a go at either Panic or Pain, the two little demons that run around Hades,” he said. “I don’t know what other actor I would pick but me and another actor can form a little double team and do that.”
Earlier this week, Radcliffe was in London to open a three-day entertainment festival of films and family activities, including screenings of his two most recent movies Swiss Army Man and Imperium.
