LAHORE: Pakistan veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez needs at least three more weeks to regain full fitness and hopefully will be available before the Test Series against West Indies.

Hafeez is going through rehabilitation in the National Cricket Academy these days under the supervision of Dr Riaz. “Hafeez is working hard and improving day by day,” Riaz told Express News while adding that the right-hand batsman is making a speedy recovery.

Hafeez incurred a calf injury during Pakistan’s tour to England. He was sent back after being ruled out of the remainder of the series.

Currently, he is giving five hours daily in three rehab sessions under the supervision of trainer Saboor Ahmed and Physiotherapist Muhammad Asad to recover from his injury.

Hafeez has also started batting in the nets which is a part of this rehabilitation programme and faced nearly 50 balls. The 35-year-old will undergo fitness assessment soon after Riaz deems him fit.

Imtiaz Awan | 7 years ago | Reply Please STAY AWAY from the team. You had the potential to become one of the best allrounders but you never improved your batting. You are a mediocre player and we don't need you , there are others who have the potential to turn out better players than you. Please continue with Imad wasim and Mohd nawaz, encourange them , give them confidence they will turn out to be much bette rplater than His Highness Mohd hafeez.
