Synergies: Agreements signed for exchange programmes

These programmes included the exchange of scholars and staff, exchange of undergraduate and graduate students

ABBOTTABAD: Various MoUs have been signed between Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST) and two Chinese institutions to encourage exchange of scholars, students and research activities.

This was stated by AUST Earth Sciences Department Head Dr Javed Iqbal while speaking to The Express Tribune.

He said the MoUs were signed during his recent visit to China. According to Iqbal, students, scholars and academia would benefit from the programme. “The programme will last for three years initially,” he said. “However, it will be extended in future.

“During the next three years, AUST and Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Institute of Geomechanics, Beijing will promote exchange programmes based on academic and educational needs,” he added.

These programmes included the exchange of scholars and staff, exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, exchange of academic information and materials, joint research activities and publications and participation in conferences and academic meetings.
