KARACHI: At least three passers-by were injured when a locally made cracker bomb exploded in Old Golimar on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred at Old Golimar when unidentified armed men threw a bomb, which exploded with a loud bang. As a result of the blast, at least three people were wounded. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital, Karachi, for treatment. A contingent of police and Rangers also reached the site following the incident.

Pak Colony SHO Tasawwar Nawaz said that at least two armed men riding a motorcycle threw the locally made cracker bomb on the road. Resultantly, at least three passers-by, including 50-year-old Sher Rehman, were wounded, said the officer. He added that the injured were, however, stable.

The officer suspected that alleged gangsters belonging to a Lyari-based gang were behind the incident. However, the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained as they did not target any shop or other site but randomly threw a bomb before fleeing. A case has been registered.
