Shah was addressing the LHC Bar Association (Rawalpindi bench) here on Thursday.
All judges of the LHC working at the Rawalpindi bench were also present on the occasion.
Shah assured the lawyers that he would make sure that the judicial officers did not misbehave with lawyers.
He asked representatives of the bar to make sure that the lawyers also behaved in a good manner with the judges.
Shah said that he wanted to make Punjab’s judiciary the number one institution in the country. He said that he wanted to see the Punjab judiciary becoming an example for other provinces.
Shah said that the task was not difficult as only good intentions and hard work was required.
The chief justice added that 50 per cent of the problems in the judiciary would be resolved, if the judiciary at the district level started functioning in a better way.
He said that he was not ready to tolerate judges with a bad reputation.
Shah said that he would hold inquiries against judges with a bad reputation and if found guilty, they would have to go home.
“We need competent judges at district level for better output. Incompetent judges earn a bad name for the judiciary. I have started cleaning the judiciary from Lahore. I have sent 22 judges to judicial academy for further training after their incompetence was observed. The judges will have to pass the examination, if they want to come back to the courts,” he said.
