According to Mahira, the acclaimed director was worried Humsafar would tank

Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan became household names after their drama Humsafar attained blockbuster status in 2011. Their on-screen chemistry has since remained a source of much envy for everyone but did you know there was at least one person who had doubts regarding the pairing of Fawad and Mahira?



And surprisingly, that person was none other than director Sarmad Khoosat who was worried about the serial becoming a flop due to 'zero chemistry' between his lead actors.

“The biggest fear of our director was that the show will tank, because according to him, Fawad and I had zero chemistry. He would always be telling us to rehearse more, to at least hold hands,” Mahira told Hindustan Times.

“But when the show went on air, our director called us and said, ‘Both of you are magic’,” she added.



Mahira -- who will be seen next with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees -- said that the reason behind Humsafar's exceptional success was the level of trust she shared with Fawad.

“We don’t get chemistry. We never did. What we had was the right attitude and we trusted each other,” she said.

Needless to say, the show made waves not only in Pakistan but in India too and the two actors easily became everyone's favorite after the impeccable performances.
