PESHAWAR: Various police officials visited mosques within their jurisdictions during Friday prayers to raise awareness against the scourge aerial firing, Police Information Network (PIN) and other issues.

The officials included SSP Operation Abbas Majeed Marwat, SP Cantt Kashif Zulfiqar, SP Rural Nasarul Mulk Bangash, SP City Wasim Khalil and all other DSPs and SHOs.

Marwat visited Mahabat Khan Masjid and urged people to avoid aerial firing on Eid, saying every year dozens of people die because of this menace.

He said, “Those involved in aerial firing will face strict punishment as they are inflicting damage on the innocent people.”

The SSP also highlighted the importance of PIN.

“A common man can now help the police arrest terrorists and extortionists by sharing information about them with police,” he said. “People could get cash reward for it and their names would not be divulged. This way they can help the police get rid of these terrorists.”

Similarly, SP Cantt visited a Spind Jumat (White Mosque) on University Road and addressed the public.
