Here’s a rundown of Eid collections that piqued our interest

LAHORE: Our markets and Instagram feeds have been inundated by Eid collections. At this time of the year, some great design work gets relegated to the sidelines due to the sheer volume of collections. The Express Tribune gives a rundown of which collections caught our attention the most, whether one wants to dress ethnic, feminine, experimental, and androgynous or boho chic this coming Eid.

Mahgul

After two memorable showcases at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week (PSFW), Mahgul launched her ready-to-wear line, Oro. Lucky for us, the line came right in time for Eid under which she launched her capsule collection titled Zill. Her designs are anything but conventional, from minimalistic, impactful cuts to uniquely embroidered kameezes and lowers. Mahgul’s keen eye for detailing and creating flattering silhouettes is a winner. The designer has also focused on cutwork on sleeves and shoulders which have been a vantage point for designers since the off-shoulder trend took off. We’re particularly in love with a high neck white top with thick black lining offset by lily print pants. Mahguls collection is priced between Rs8, 500 and Rs65, 000 and is available at their studio in Lahore.





Misha Lakhani

Lakhani’s Eid collection, Modern Gypsy, is a summer treat with its neutral pastel colour palette and relaxed, flowy silhouettes. Her ensembles not only make for an ideal Eid ensemble but can also be restyled and lived in through the summer with their comfortable and airy cuts. The collection ranging from Rs12, 000 to Rs18, 000 can easily transition from day to night wear.



Saira Shakira

If there’s one thing we can count on Saira Shakira for, it is to create something that can be identified as their creation from miles away. Over the years, the duo has developed a signature style that oscillates between asymmetrical androgyny and feminine with a twist. Their Eid collection features collared tops in cotton net with long embellished vests as well as billowing plain tops in pastel shades, tied together with their signature black belts. The collection comprises 15 basic designs falling between Rs15, 000 and Rs25, 000 and more formal designs priced between Rs30, 000 and Rs40, 000. The stock can be viewed at their new store at Gulberg Galleria in Lahore.



Farah Talib Aziz

The brand is synonymous with feminine florals and pastels and for that particular aesthetic, they have never disappointed us. As a design house, the mother-daughter duo is completely bankable for that style and hence make it to our top picks for Eid. With their prices starting at Rs12, 000, they are slightly expensive but their designs can be worn formally as well. “We have especially designed a cotton based capsule collection featuring our signature motifs,” said the marketing force behind the label, Maliha Aziz.





Generation

Generation’s much hyped collection, A Dot That Went For A Walk, has finally made it into stores. But that is only part of their Eid range which also includes three other lines – Awadh, Parsi and Shikargarh. The first two display a variety of A-line tunics and chattapatti ghararas embellished with gotta and zardozi. The latter, true to its name has long and short peplum tops with hunting scenes. The prices vary between Rs4, 000 and Rs14, 000.
