KARACHI: Olympics Day, held annually on June 23, will be celebrated by the Pakistan Hockey Federation with the support of former hockey champions. The body will organise hockey matches, seminars and workshops for the event.

“Internationally, the celebrations begin from June 18 to 26, we want to celebrate the day to spread awareness of Olympics and our national game — hockey. The federation will invite hockey greats to meet emerging players,” said PHF domestic and development director Naveed Alam.  “Young players should know what it is like to win at an international level, and if they work hard and persevere, they will be able to achieve glory.”

The celebration will be held at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore where teams from around the country will contest a Hockey-5 tournament under floodlights, added Alam.
