PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MPAs rejected the K-P budget for Fiscal Year 2016-17, saying it was centered on just three districts.

PML-N MPA Sualeh Muhammad said the provincial government could not utilise the budget for FY 2015-16 and majority of the funds lapsed. He believed the same would be repeated this time around.

“They only think Swabi, Dir and Nowshera are K-P. Are the rest of the 23 districts not part of the province,” he questioned while talking to the media at the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday.

The PML-N leader had expected the provincial government to announce mega projects, which it did not.

He said those criticising the Metro train could not even prepare a feasibility report for a mass transit system in the provincial capital.

PML-N MPA Arbab Waseem said PML-N workers in K-P would thwart any attempt to destabilise the country. He said certain elements did not want PML-N to complete its five-year tenure as they feared nobody else woul d get an opportunity to form a government. He was confident that the public would vote the party in time and again.
