“The director of this Indian film is a Pakistani guy Rizwan,” Hussain told The Express Tribune. “I can’t disclose the title just yet, but for now I can tell you that it is being produced by an Indian chap called Gulraiz. The cast is essentially a ‘mixed plate’, which consists both, Pakistani as well as Indian actors. The shoot will take place in Mumbai and I will be flying off to India in about three days’ time for almost a week.” While the initial stay will be short, he plans on spending more time in the city in August to work on the project. “It is a romantic comedy. Bits and pieces of it will also be shot in Europe.”
Hussain made it clear however, that he will continue working on his Pakistani film projects. He will next be seen in the sequel of 2015’s Karachi Se Lahore, the production for which is currently underway. The comic star was hopeful that the new instalment in the franchise would do better business than the original movie. “I hope it does well on the box office. I believe it is a good film, because the script is really fine. Besides, I think the item number is better than what was seen in KSL,” he also added that film is being shot at truly picturesque locations as compared to the ones featured in its prequel. “This particular project is being filmed at all beautiful places between Swat and Islamabad.”
Perseverance key for actor Yasir Hussain
Apart from giving audience fits of laughter and pure entertainment with his comedy, Hussain will also be seen donning his dancing shoes and getting his groove on in one of the movie’s songs. “The Pakistani audience will need to have bear with me patiently while watching my dance moves,” he quipped.
Looking back to the film that brought him to the forefront of the Pakistani film industry, Hussain said Karachi Se Lahore was indeed a great learning experience. “I bonded with the young actors and became friends with them over time. However, this being my first ever project, work was so much more and the pay was far less compared to it.”
After Lahore Se Aagey was announced, Hussain signed yet another movie, a project directed by Yasira Rizvi titled Senti aur Mental. The film, which is expected to go on floor by September this year, will hit cinema screens in 2017. “It’s a different kind of a rom-com, more like Zindagi Na Milay Gi Dobara,” shared the actor. “It is not entirely a romantic film. Bits and parts of it explore two individual lives at length in a very interesting manner.”
