ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif went to the residence of Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday to congratulate him on the safe recovery of his son Ali Haider Gilani after three years in captivity of militants in Afghanistan.

His wife Kulsoom Nawaz and son Hussain Nawaz accompanied the prime minister to the Gilani House. “The PM brought bouquet, sweets and fruits to congratulate the return of Ali Haider. The Gilanis welcomed the Sharifs at their gate and gave them a warm reception,” a source said.

The premier also discussed the current political situation with Gilani. “PM Sharif and Gilani discussed the current political situation for an hour. He said he wanted to take all political parties on board for the country’s progress. Gilani assured him that the PPP wouldn’t let the democratic process derail and keep supporting democracy,” the source said.
