TIMERGARA: A passing-out parade of new army recruits was held in Timergara on Friday. Speaking at the ceremony, IG FC Major General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood said the armed forces have sacrificed their lives for national security to combat militancy in the country.

“It is because of the security forces that peace has been restored in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa” he added.

According to Mehmood, Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel have played a critical role in eradicating militancy from the tribal belt.

Certificates and medals were awarded to the graduating recruits. The parade was attended by 21 units of Frontier Scout. A large number of locals also attended the occasion.

Earlier this week, 1,975 FC recruits graduated at a ceremony held at Shabqadar Fort. During this ceremony, FC Commandant Liaqat Ali said at least 346 FC personnel have lost their lives across the province.
