Judge Marth sentenced Amir to death for killing Muhammad Yahya in Mir Muhammad area in 2011

Two judges in Kasur passed verdicts on two murder cases on Monday. Additional District and Sessions Judge Rai Muhammad Nawaz Marth sentenced a murder convict to death and District and Sessions Judge Mujahid Mustaqeem Ahmed sentenced another murder convict to life imprisonment. According to the prosecution, Judge Marth sentenced Amir to death for killing Muhammad Yahya in Mir Muhammad area in 2011. The judge also fined him Rs100,000. His brother Javed was sentenced to five years imprisonment and Rs25000 fine for injuring Asif in a Raja Jang police precinct. Co-accused Ghulam Ali, father of the convicts, and Sabir, brother of the convicts, were acquitted after they were given benefit of doubt. The convicts had been related to the victim and his injured brother. Separately, Judge Mujahid Ahmed sentenced Mansha to life imprisonment and fined him Rs500,000 for murdering his brother-in-law Waris Ali in a Raja Jang police precinct on November 17,2014. The petitioner said the two had had a long-standing business dispute over a bakery that they had once owned jointly. Yousaf, co-accused in the case, was acquitted.
