PESHAWAR: One woman died at the Women Crisis Centre in Hayatabad on Thursday evening. An enquiry committee has been formed to investigate the case. Insiders said two more suspicious incidents occurred earlier which escaped detection; one woman died mysteriously and the other managed to vanish from the centre. Sources said Shazia had been living at the crisis centre for a few days before she died “under mysterious circumstances”. When contacted, Nadia Shah, the manager of the centre, told The Express Tribune, “Shazia was rushed to Hayatabad Medical Complex when she started vomiting; four hours later, she died at the hospital.” Shah said, “He is with us. We have informed Shazia’s family.” Hayatabad SHO Ebad Wazeer said it was a natural death, without an autopsy.
