KOLKATA: In yet another predictable cricket showdown, Pakistan on Saturday lost to traditional rivals India at the World T20 in Kolkata.

Pakistan came to Eden Gardens with the hope of smashing their world cup jinx against India, but the only thing that broke was people's television sets.

Shocking tactics lead to another chastening defeat

While the Pakistani female squad was victorious over their Indian counterparts, the men in green once again faltered against MS Dhoni’s side.

Virat Kohli helped India pip Pakistan by six wickets at Kolkata’s jam-packed Eden Gardens. Kohli struck an unbeaten 55 as India comfortably chased down Pakistan’s total of 118-5, reaching their target with 13 balls remaining in a match reduced to 18 overs per side because of rain.

Women’s win fails to inspire Men in Green

The cricket-mad neighbours, who have gone to war three times since independence, share one of the world's fiercest sporting rivalries and their rare showdowns on the pitch can bring both to a standstill.

It was no surprise then that disappointed Pakistani fans let out their anger by smashing their television sets.
