PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Establishment department has cancelled the transfer of Provincial Disaster Management Authority’s director general, stated a handout issued on Tuesday. On February 8, the department had transferred PDMA DG Amer Afaq, a grade-19 officer, and posted him as Swabi additional deputy commissioner, a grade-18 post. The move had raised speculations among bureaucrats in the province as Afaq had been transferred to a lower cadre. Some officials criticised the government for leaving PDMA without a head. As per the handout, Mahmood Aslam, Matiullah Khan and Shahidullah - BS-18 officers - were appointed to a BS-19 post on acting charge basis. They have been allowed to work in their original post in the public interest till further orders are issued.
