Pakistan super league: Zalmi beat Gladiators by eight wickets

Captain Shahid Afridi picked his career best figures of 5-7 in four overs

Peshawar Zalmi beat Quetta Gladiators for the second time in the tournament Sunday night, after heroics from captain Shahid Afridi who picked his career best figures of 5-7 in four overs. Chasing a modest total of 130, opener  Dawid Malan scored an impressive 60 not out off 52 balls, with six fours and one six, helping Peshawar Zalmi win by eight wickets. Earlier, last-wicket world-record partnership from Grant Elliot (40) and Zulfiqar Babar (20) rescued Quetta’s innings after they were reduced to 66-9 due to the sublime bowling performance of captain Shahid Afridi (5- 7) and left-arm fast-bowler Wahab Riaz (2-19). Both teams have qualified for the play-offs and will face each other in the first qualifier on Friday.
