KARACHI: Officials of SWD with the help of law enforcement agencies dislodged tents of illegal foreign hunters near Thatta on Sunday.

Two foreigners with the help of district game officer Rasool Bux Jakhro set up a camp to hunt the houbara bustard, an official told The Express Tribune. He said the hunters, possessing falcons, had no hunting permits.

The game warden also tried to pressure the SWD team, he said. “Our team was under threat but thanks to local police we removed the tents,” he added.

It was also learnt that the foreigners from Qatar were invited by local landlords in Chillia, some 13km from Thatta city.
