SWAT/ BUNER:

In a bid to improve security at educational institutes, a special training was held on Saturday by the police to train security guards on how to properly use guns. The training in the area is currently under way.

Ibrahim Jan, a security guard attending the training, said they were being trained to use modern arms and ammunition. “I want to bring an end to terrorism and will do everything to protect schools,” he added. Kabal DSP Badshah Hussain said, “Around 1,000 security guards have been trained by special police officials and over 200 guards are expected to be trained under the same programme.” He also said 103 cases have been registered against heads of administrations whose schools do not have adequate security.

Private School Association President Sawab Khan told The Express Tribune, “Action is being taken against those who are not providing adequate security to schools.” Earlier, a three-day session concluded in Dagar, Buner where 132 security guards of government and private schools were trained on use of modern guns.
