Taking charge: New Malakand DC assumes office

Rehman urged all law-enforcement officers to ensure peace in the region

Khaista Rehman assumed the office of Malakand deputy commissioner in a simple ceremony on Friday.


The ceremony was attended by civil and law-enforcement officers and representatives of various sociopolitical circles. Among them were Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s Advocate Raziq Jan, Awami National Party’s Ijaz Ali Khan, Malik Adil Nawaz from a trade union and Malakand Press Club President Rab Nawaz Saghir.


Speaking on the occasion, the new deputy commissioner urged all civil, administrative and law enforcement agencies (LEA) to ensure their official responsibilities are performed in a timely manner. He said all of them were responsible for looking after the people and helping them resolve long-standing problems.


Rehman urged all law-enforcement officers to ensure peace in the region, saying it was possible to strictly monitor activities of criminal and other anti-social elements.
