Busted: Four drug peddlers convicted

The judge sentenced Arshad Khan to 11.5 years in prison

Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Hussain Bhatti convicted four people in separate cases involving narcotics.


According to the Prosecution Department, members of the Anti-Narcotics Force arrested Arshad Khan, a resident of Charsadda, and Muhammad Faisal, a resident of Rawalpindi, at a Motorway Interchange in 2014. The team had seized 16.8 kilogrammes of hashish from them. The judge sentenced Arshad Khan to 11.5 years in prison. He was also fined Rs55,000. If he doesn’t pay the amount, he will have to undergo additional 15 days imprisonment. The judge sentenced Muhammad Faisal to seven years imprisonment and directed him to pay Rs15,000 fine.


He will have to undergo an additional two months’ imprisonment if he cannot pay the amount.


Judge Zafar Hussain Bhatti sentenced Muhammad Younas, a drug trafficker, to four years and six months in prison. His accomplice Phaappan Bibi was given the same punishment. They have been directed to pay Rs20,000 fine each.


They will have to stay in prison for an additional six months and four months, respectively, if they fail to pay the fine. An ANF team had arrested Younus and Phaappan Bibi from a Motorway Interchange in 2014 and had recovered 4.8 kg hashish from them.
