Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir on Sunday denied that Pakistan was leading mediation between Saudi Arabia and Iran. According to Saudi news outlet AlRiyadh, Jubeir urged Iran to stop interfering in affairs of other Gulf countries as he spoke in Manama, Bahrain. Jubeir’s statement comes at the end of a week which saw Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif visit Riyadh and Tehran to patch ties. His comments come on a day when Iran arrested several people in connection with attacks on the Saudi embassy in Tehran.
