Pakistan lost the third T20 to New Zealand by 95 runs as the hosts bagged the series 2-1 on Friday.

The Kiwis' innings was insipired by initial fireworks by Martin Guptill who scored 42 off 19 courtesy six boundaries and two maximums.

Later, Corey Anderson kept the run rate moving up with a 42-ball 82. He hit four sixes and six boundaries.

Pakistan's most successful bowler was Afridi with a economy rate of 6.75. He also gave Pakistan their first breakthrough of the match.

Wahab Riaz was the most successful bowler as far as wickets are concerned. He accounted for two batsman but gave away 43 runs in just four overs.

In their reply, Pakistan came out to chase with all gun blazing but forgot to watch the ball closely.

Wickets fell like a deck of cards as the first three batsmen were in the pavillion for a score of 15. After that, each batsman came out with only one thing in mind - to hit it out of the park or get out.

Sarfraz Ahmed (41 off 36 balls) was the only batsman who seemed to retain sanity while his partners kept coming in and walking out. Shoaib Malik was the only other batsman to enter double figures.

For New Zealand, express-paced Adam Milne and dibbly-dobbly right-armer Grant Elliot bagged three wickets apiece.

Man of the match Corey Anderson: It was nice to perform after a long while. Its nice to get runs and open the bowling.

Shahid Afridi: Congrats to NZ. Obviously when your five, six batsmen are sitting in dressing room in the first five overs, what do you expect? My performance is key for the team. Bowling is good but I need to score runs as well. Lesser mistakes are good in this format. I want to thank the NZ crowd. Its great playing here. There are beautiful, down to earth and friendly people.

Kane Williamson: Every game was tough. A side like Pakistan keeps putting you under pressure. Its good of the boys to deliver under pressure. We kept changing surfaces but we kept building partnerships. I think we improved from the last game. We know World T20 will have different conditions. We will have to work smart again for that.

Yul47 London | 8 years ago | Reply It is the fragile Pakistani batting which claimed a scalp yet again. Ahmed Shezad is in all sorts and his inclusion raises a question mark on selectors. Unless law of averages is applied on selection process batsman and bowlers performance of their last 5 games, axing them will make a player fight for his place. The other important aspect missing is fitness, a strict regime of both exercise and diet be strictly implemented with regular checks on ever player.
Raheel | 8 years ago | Reply Only one word comes to my mind "Embarrassing" and this phrase in Urdu "Kisi kaam ki nahin hai ye team". Please PCB do something about this and get rid of dead wood after this coming world cup. After this show, I am really worried that how we will going to get out of this group in forthcoming World Cup. Group 2 India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia
