Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Junaid Khan said that he agrees with people who compare him to Spanish footballer Esteban Granero.

“I agree that I look like him,” said Junaid while talking to PakPassion.net. “A lot of people say I do. Even in Sri Lanka and India, people were saying to me that I look like him.

“In fact, one of the PCB analysts said to me that I should grow my hair and that would mean we would look even more alike.”

The 24-year-old also said that he is excited for the inaugural Pakistan Super League (PSL) edition, which will start from February 4.

“I’m really excited about the PSL,” said Junaid. “It [PSL] presents Pakistan cricket with a great opportunity to show the world that we can organise a major T20 league. I would have been happy to play for any team, but as a Pathan it’s special to be playing for Peshawar.”

Khan, who was dropped after a disappointing tour of Bangladesh, said he is hopeful about his future in the Pakistan team.

“I don’t think people should write me off,” said Junaid. “I feel that if you can come back from adversity like injuries, then that makes you a stronger person and toughens you up.

“I am 110% sure that the old Junaid Khan is back and I believe my best cricketing years are ahead of me.”
