KARACHI: Three people were injured in a gas explosion inside a manhole near a Rangers checkpoint in North Nazimabad's Block B on Thursday evening.

The explosion took place after gas had accumulated in the gutter. Those injured in the explosion were Dr Saud, Falakzada and Rafiq. Speaking to The Express Tribune, District West DIG Feroz Shah said that all the injured persons were out of danger.

"It was not a planted blast," he said, adding that it was not a terrorist attack. Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the site, as the explosion was heard in several areas and many believed it to be a terrorist attack targeting the Rangers check post.

The injured persons were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and were declared out of danger
