Illegal construction: Four buildings demolished in Old City

WCLA also sealed two buildings near Dehli Gate over illegal construction

LAHORE: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) has sealed and demolished several illegally constructed buildings in the Old City.  The WCLA’s Building Control Department demolished four buildings in Shah Alam area and sealed two buildings near Dehli Gate over illegal construction. WCLA spokesperson Tania Qureshi said the authority was committed to restoring the Old City and would not tolerate illegal construction in the area.  She said the authority had demolished a building in Kashmiri Bazaar for constructing five stories and a basement. She said a building in the same neighbourhood had been sealed and served notices for the illegal construction two additional floors and a basement.  She said the WCLA had demolished a building in Kabuli Mahal near Shah Alam Gate and another building on main Shah Alam Road over similar charges.
