KARACHI: In a simple, low-key ceremony, Zaheer Abbas married Mehwish Ghayas on Monday.

The fashion designer tied the knot with the doctor and the nikah ceremony took place at his home.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Abbas shared what made him find this special someone in his life. “We are neighbours. My mother would often visit her house, she really liked her. Though Mehwish had often seen me, I had never met in her person till some time back. You know how busy these doctors are.”

The dull and dreary dominate the race

Ghayas said his wife has recently completed her MBBS and is set to begin a house-job at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi. “It’s a completely arranged affair. My mother chose her for me!” he said.

Both Abbas and Mehwish donned his signature cuts on the big day. “For our nikah, Mehwish wore a white gharara, which was done up in aari, zardozi and resham work, intricately hand-crafted. I just had a month on my hands to get it done. ” Her make-up was done at Depilex. On the other hand, the designer wore his designed white kurta, waist-coat and shawl.

Third time’s the charm

The rukhsati reception will take place on Wednesday (today). “I just hope the readers say a kind prayer for our marriage to be successful.”
