LONDON: Remarks by US presidential hopeful Donald Trump on Muslims were "divisive, stupid and wrong" British Prime Minister David Cameron told parliament on Wednesday.

"I think his remarks are divisive stupid and wrong and I think if he came to our country he would unite us all against him," Cameron said when asked whether he supported a petition to ban Trump from entering Britain.

Earlier, on Sunday, Republican front-runner Donald Trump pushed against party leaders reportedly looking to block his path to the presidential nomination, saying they were “kidding themselves,” as rival Ted Cruz surged in polls.

The push to stop Trump comes as the billionaire real estate tycoon finds himself at the centre of a firestorm over his call to ban Muslims from entering the United States.

Raj - USA | 8 years ago | Reply Anyone who has watched yesterday's debate of US Republican Presidential candidates would have noticed the anti-muslim message that they all had. One analyst even said that any muslim in USA watching the debate would have felt very scared. Yes "scared" is the word he used. India has 180 million muslims making up of 15% of its population. USA has just about 2 -3 million muslims making up for <1% of its population. UK has just about 3 million muslims making up for about 5% of its population. All these countries with such insignificant muslim population, both in numbers and in percentage, have huge sections that are against muslims. Additionally, India also has 800 million hindus making up for 80% of its population. No other country in the world has such a high number or concentration of any one non-islamic religious group in their population. Study these and realize how much tolerant hindus are and how much tolerant is India itself. To understand the tolerance levels in India and hindus of India and compare with the similar happening in USA, UK, and throughout Europe, you must realize that more than ten thousand acts or expressions against muslims in USA, UK, and elsewhere in Europe equals to just one such similar act in India because India has such huge muslim population, both in numbers and in percentage and also has so over 800 million hindus making up for 80% of its population. In other words, if there is one such act in India, it equals to more than 10,000 such acts in those other countries. Muslims of Pakistan have not realized this. In India you don't even see shias and sunnis killing each other. Ahmedis are considered muslims in India. In fact one US Republican candidate appreciated India on its tolerance level and said something on the same lines. I do not recall it verbatim, but his message was similar to what I have said here. It is not just Trump, but all Republican candidates that have the same views but they say it differently. Also, a huge section of the general non-muslim population, not just in USA but in UK and throughout Europe have same views on muslims.
