ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court will likely announce on Thursday (today) its ruling over Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique’s plea against election tribunal’s verdict for the re-elections in constituencies NA-125 and PP-155 after irregularities were found in the records of 2013 general elections.

The three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Wednesday asked Ahmad Awais, counsel for PTI candidate Hamid Khan, to conclude his arguments by Thursday.

During the hearing, the bench remarked that prima facie administrative lapses were committed, as no rigging was committed during the election.

Meanwhile, Rafique, while talking to the media, said that the PTI failed to establish that the election result was manipulated. The minister said that he will accept and respect any decision of the apex court in this case.
