LAHORE: Ranveer Singh has said it is his wish to visit Karachi and Lahore once again.

The Bollywood heartthorb -- who interacted with media in Lahore via video conference -- was accompanied by his Bajirao Mastani co-star Deepika Padukone.

“I share a close association with Karachi because my grandparents belonged to the city,” he said. Ranveer also disclosed that he visited Pakistan when he was a student.

“But now I have heard that the cities have changed a lot. Some of my relatives are still living in Karachi plus I have a lot of friends in Islamabad and Rawalpindi who keep me updated. Ali Zafar is a great friend who has invited me to Lahore on numerous occasions, sending me pictures of his beautiful house.”

Ranveer said at the moment he is engaged in film activities but promised his fans in Pakistan that they will find him walking the streets of their country very soon.

The event was put together by IMGC for the promotion of his upcoming film Bajirao Mastani which features Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.

Talking about the film that is releasing on December 18, Ranveer said Bajirao Mastani is an important milestone in his career. “People will remember my role for a long period of time. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a very committed filmmaker and I learnt a lot from him,” he said.

“The role is very powerful but the message of the film plays on emotions. Sanjay spent a lot of money on the project and paid special attention to every detail,” Ranveer added.

Talking about his career trajectory, he said he has always tried to essay a variety of roles and films like Dil Dhadakne Do, Ram Leela and Lootera bear testimony to that. “I bagged a Filmfare for my debut appearance in Band Baja Baraat and I am positive that I will win the award this year as well.”

Although she let Ranveer do the talking for a most part of the conference, Deepika did speak about her role in the film and thanked the Pakistani media for giving her the title of Maha Lakshmi Devi of Bollywood. She said that the film has been crafted in such a way that the audiences will love every single dialogue. “They will whistle and clap in every scene,” she laughingly said.
