Blast in bajaur: Two security officials injured

Unidentified people entered the building, burned the possessions of the watchman and planted an IED

SHABQADAR: Two security force officials were injured when a roadside IED went off when they were on patrol in Bajaur Agency. According to the political administration, the incident occurred at Nava pass area near the Pak-Afghan border on Monday. “Both officials were shifted to Khar where they were airlifted to Peshawar,” a political administration official at Nawagai said. He added a search operation was launched to arrest the culprits. No one claimed responsibility for the blast till the filing of this report. In another incident, an IED planted by unidentified men inside a mobile tower in Lakaro tehsil, Mohmand Agency was defused by security forces on Monday. A Mohmand Agency political administration official confirmed the IED was planted inside the tower room in Lakar Safi Sunday night. “Unidentified people entered the building, burned the possessions of the watchman and planted an IED,” he said. The device did not go off which allowed security forces to respond quickly and defuse it.
